Cambo Sands Beach Kingsbarns is only 3 miles from Crail, and a ten minute drive from Sandcastle Cottage. The village is served by the 95 bus to St Andrews however the bus stop is in the village square. Therefore it can be a bit of a trek to the beach and not recommended if you have young children.
This beach is not well known and even on hot sunny days it is not as busy as Elie or St Andrews. There is free parking all day. If you don’t want to take food with you the Cheesy Toast Shack provides excellent hot and cold snacks throughout the summer months and weekends during the winter. There are ample picnic tables all near the car park and the beach. The beach is long with lots of sand, flat, shallow and ideal for swimming, paddling, and building sandcastles. It’s a favourite spot for barbeques as the car park is right on the beach and not far to carry any cooking equipment.
The Cheesy Toast Shack has become a permanent feature at Kingsbarns Beach. It’s well worth a visit to get that welcome cup of coffee or tea and sample some of their excellent toasted sandwiches.
