One of the things that many of our guests like to do on holiday is to pay a visit to the beautiful gardens around Fife. We’ve selected three of our favourites, but please let us know if there’s another you’d like us to feature, by commenting below.
Cambo Gardens, Cambo House, Kingsbarns
Open all year round, there’s always something to see at Cambo. Famous for the Cambo Snowdrop Festival heralding the coming of spring, but with events such as the Tulip Festival and Rose Festival giving an indication of the variety of different plants and flowers to see. There is a tearoom in the house and plenty of opportunities to buy plants.
See our blog on Cambo Gardens and Heritage Centre
Kellie Castle and Garden, near Pittenweem, East Neuk of Fife
The Garden and grounds are open all year round, with the Castle being open from April – October. Check the National Trust for Scotland website for full details. There’s a tearoom to tempt you too. Fresh produce and plants for sale.

Culross Palace Garden
If you’re happy to venture further afield in Fife, then in the west of the Kingdom you’ll find the Royal Burgh of Culross (pronounced Koo-Riss or Koo-Ross depending on which sign you believe!) There are many properties there which have been restored by the National Trust for Scotland, and the Culross Palace Garden is well worth a visit. It’s open all year round, although the Palace is only open from April – October. There’s a café at the Palace, or visit The Biscuit Café which also doubles as a pottery and general store. The streets of Culross have recently been used as a set location for filming the Outlander TV Series (based on the books by Diana Gabaldon).
We’ve put lots more ideas about Gardens to Visit in Fife on our Pinterest Board, and hope you’ll enjoy some of the beautiful gardens around Fife on your next stay at Sandcastle Cottage. Check availability by entering your desired dates into the search box at the top right of this page.
