25 things to do in the East Neuk of Fife

Here are 25 things we have done as a family whilst on holiday at Sandcastle Cottage. There is definitely something for everyone on a holiday in the East Neuk of Fife and St Andrews.  

As seasoned holidaymakers in the area, there are of course some glaring omissions but we thought the selection might inspire you if you’re considering a break here.

25 things we did on a holiday in Crail

1. Elie Watersports – Kayaking
2. Walked Fife Coastal Path Elie to Anstruther
3. Walked along Cambo Sands Beach and had a toasty for lunch from the Cheesy Toast Shack.
4. Archery with the Scottish Countryman (just outside Crail on the A917 between Crail and Kingsbarns)
5. Booked an amazing trip to the Isle of May on the Osprey Rhib.
   
6. Tennis at Beechwalk Park (bring your own rackets and balls). Improved my fitness at the Outdoor Gym
7. Shopped at Crail Pottery
8. Bought fresh seafood from the Crab Shack at Crail Harbour.
9. Pre Booked Tickets on line for Scotland’s Secret Bunker (just outside Crail on the B940)
10. Played golf at Crail Balcomie Links
    
11. Went foraging with East Neuk Seaweed
12. Barbecue on Roome Bay Beach
13. Visited Kellie Castle Gardens
14. Ordered Fish & Chips from Crail Chip Shop.
15. Walked the Fife Coastal Path Crail – St Andrews
16. Visited St Andrews Aquarium and the R&A World Golf Museum
17. Bought strawberries and raspberries from Barnsmuir Farm Shop just outside Crail.
18. Visited Craigtoun Country Park
19. When it rained booked tickets online to see a film at the New Picture House St Andrews
20. Went on the Whisky Tour at Kingsbarns Distillery
21. Arranged a day out to St Andrews and did the free Historical Walking Tour.
22. Visited Cambo Heritage Centre and walled garden.
23. Putting at Crail Putting Green
24. Cycling round Crail on the many cycling routes in the area
25.  Visited the East Sands Leisure Centre in St Andrews. Only a short drive or bus trip from Crail.
