A Weekend at East Neuk Knits

East Neuk Knits – There are weekends away, and then there are weekends that feel like a little reset button — a chance to slow down, breathe more deeply and remember the pleasure of making something with your hands. A weekend at East Neuk Knits is very much the latter.

Tucked away in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife, this is the kind of place where the pace naturally drops. The sea is never far away, the villages are full of character, and there is something wonderfully comforting about spending a few days surrounded by wool, colour, creativity and people who are just as enthusiastic about knitting as you are.

The Venue

East Neuk Knits takes place from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 November 2026. The main event is at Bowhouse Marketplace located on the A917 just outside St Monans.

A Weekend at East Neuk Knits – Arriving in the East Neuk

The journey into the East Neuk feels like part of the experience. As the landscape changes and the road winds towards the coast, everyday life seems to become a little more distant.

The East Neuk itself is made up of a string of picturesque fishing villages, each with its own personality. There are harbours to wander around, little cafés to discover and plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the view.

But for knitters, there is an additional attraction: the promise of a weekend dedicated to yarn.

A Weekend of Wool and Creativity

One of the joys of a knitting weekend is that you don’t have to explain why you’ve brought several projects with you.

There is time to sit, knit and chat. Time to look at what everyone else is making. Time to learn something new, pick up a technique you’ve been meaning to try, or finally make a start on the project that has been living in your queue for months.

The pleasure of taking things slowly

Perhaps the greatest luxury of a knitting weekend is time.

At home, knitting can easily become something squeezed into the gaps between work, errands, cooking and everything else. At East Neuk Knit, those gaps disappear. Knitting becomes the main event.

There is something deeply satisfying about settling into a chair with your needles, watching a project gradually take shape while the hours pass without needing to be productive in any other way.
