Crail holiday cottage – Sandcastle Cottage is located in the conservation area of the East Neuk fishing village of Crail Scotland. We sleep 5 people plus a baby. With free on street parking outside the cottage you are only a few minutes walk from shops, restaurants, two beaches, childrens play area and Crail’s historic working harbour. You also have a large private garden to relax in on hot sunny days.
Crail Holiday Cottage – Roome Bay
The window of our master bedroom overlooks Roome Bay. A two minute walk down the beach path you will find a fully restored 16th Century Doocot which is open to the public. You will also find a new childrens play area with a round about, swings, slide and more. There is also a large rock pool which is popular with young children catching small fish and crabs. We have lots of fishing nets in the outhouse so no need to buy one.
Crail Holiday Cottage – Crail Harbour
The historic harbour is only a few minutes walk from Sandcastle Cottage. The harbour is a working harbour and crabs and lobsters are landed daily. You can buy fresh crab from Greens in the High Street. You will also find a coffee shop Crail Harbour Gallery, ice cream shop Brodies Grannies and a sheltered sandy beach. The pier is a favourite spot for fishing.
Crail Holiday Cottage – Crail High Street
On Crail High Street you will find some great local shops where you will find everything you need to feed a family on a weeks self catering. We have an excellent butcher Penmans, good local baker Barnetts, a fishmonger/greengrocer Green’s and two well stocked convenience stores Crail Co-op and Dans Stores.
In addition to our food shops selling a range of fancy goods and art, Shells and Crail Gallery. In Crail you are never far away from a coffee shop and ice cream so after you have done that shop why not visit the Beehive.
We also have a good Pharmacy for those little accidents that sometimes happen on holiday.
Crail Holiday Cottage – Eating Out
Crail has two hotels the Balcomie and the Golf which serve food all day at prices to suit family budgets. For that special meal out why not try the Shoregate in the High Street. If you fancy a night out no need to worry about the cost of taxis. At Sandcastle Cottage you are within walking distance.
Days Out from Crail
In Crail you are never far away from the other East Neuk towns of Anstruther,, Pittenweem, St Monans and Elie. There are a couple of lovely beaches at Kingsbarns and Elie. Elie Watersports is popular and East Neuk Outdoors are popular with energetic teenagers.

Crail for the Golfer
If you play golf you are never far away from some of the best golf courses Scotland has to offer. Crail has two 18 hole courses only a short drive away. At Fife Ness you will find Crail Golfing Society’s clubhouse and the Balcomie and Craighead courses. The views from the dining room of the clubhouse are spectacular. For more details click this link
