This year, we’ve been trying to walk the whole 117 miles of the Fife Coastal Path, from Kincardine round to Newburgh. Read more
Pittenweem is the East Neuk of Fife’s only working fish market. Large fishing boats land their catch in the harbour in the early hours of the morning. A day trip to Pittenweem is highly recocommended.
Pittenweem has also become a hub for local artists. Visitors can enjoy regular exhibitions throughout the year.

This easy circular walk from Kingsbarns to Boarhills Beach and back along the Pitmilly Burn, will take you approximately 2.5 hours. The walk follows part of the Fife Coastal Path from Crail to St Andrews. The return is back across attractive countryside around the village of Kingsbarns.

Many of our guests at Sandcastle Cottage like to walk sections of the Fife Coastal Path, and it’s easy to do so from the front door of the cottage where you can join the path and head towards either St Andrews or Anstruther. Read more
