Thanks to the folks at Outdoor Fife, we’ve just received a new set of Scottish Mountain Bike Trails route cards to add to our visitor information at Sandcastle Cottage for families who would like to go cycling during their holiday.
We’ve selected two of the trails which we think will be popular for families visiting Crail, and we’re looking forward to trying these out on our next trip to Sandcastle Cottage.

There’s a wonderful project going on around the UK coastline – have you heard of it yet? A mysterious beach visitor who likes to be known only as “manonabeach” is touring our beaches, asking fellow beach visitors one simple question “What does the beach mean to you?”. Read more
As part of the Pittenweem Arts Festival this week, one of the events was ‘Crinoids and Clams’ – a walk along the coast from Pittenweem to look at the rock formations which give evidence of Fife’s geological origins. Billed as an event for the under 12’s, there were some adults who joined in too, ‘I’m only 69’, said one!
